COVID-19 Risk Communication & Community Engagement approach in Pakistan

Description

Pakistan has been facing an increase in COVID-19 cases every day. The country has been adherent to three main elements: National Response Plans, Pakistan Preparedness and Response Plan (PPRP), and the Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) Approach. There is currently an RCCE task force at the national level that is co-led by the Government of Pakistan along with UNICEF. As of 2 June 2020, there are 72,460 confirmed cases: 44,834 active, 26,083 recovered, and 1,543 deaths. To reduce the spread of COVID19, the RCCE strategic approach in Pakistan has been put in place four different targets: behavior pattern analysis through the use of anthropological and social data, promotion of positive behaviors, responding to resistance, or misinformation and lastly, advocacy and capacity building.
